Baltic resort & The Hanseatic city

Baltic resort & The Hanseatic city

A day by the seaside: there are lots of things to see and do while spending a day by the seaside at Travemünde.

In former times, the fishermen’s cottages were in the foreground; today the old-town facades accommodate a modern shopping promenade with lots of restaurants and cafés. Here you will see huge ferries manoeuvring; you will get an outstanding view of the four-masted barque Passat, and it is just a short hop to the lighthouse and Travemünde casino.

The Hanseatic City - Contemporary and historical

On Priwall, the peninsula between the Baltic and the river Trave, however, you are back in the world of nature. With its natural beach and bird sanctuary, this is Travemünde at its natural, unspoiled best. The Priwall ferry links Priwall and the town of Travemünde with regular services.

Lübeck in a day: A day in Lübeck can be very diverse and varied. In the secret world of passages and courtyards you find densely built-up lanes with idyllic backyards.
The medieval Heiligen-Geist-Hospital exudes history, as does the symbol of the Hanseatic city, the Holsten Gate.

A visit to museums like the Buddenbrook House and the Günter Grass House makes for a perfect day.

Meanwhile, the main shopping street is modern and vibrant, offering excellent facilities as you enjoy a stroll. And for everyone with a sweet tooth, there are all sorts of sweet souvenirs to be had in Café Niederegger. If you fancy getting to know the town from the water, you should definitely get on board one of the numerous harbour or canal tours on the river Trave.
